Policies
I reserve the right to refuse anyone who I do not see fit to own one of my animals.

New York City, New York, USA (a call to the City's 311 information service indicated that hedgehogs are not specifically prohibited--not listed in any way by name as either definitely legal or illegal. They were listed as illegal in the City Health Code in 2000[1])

Deposit Policy:
You must fill out the hedgehog application before making a deposit. If you make a deposit before filling out the application, I will put the hedgehog on hold until you are able to complete the application. If I do not approve you for a hedgehog, I will refund your money.

A $50 (NON-REFUNDABLE) deposit is required before receiving a hedgehog. Method of payment may be cash or PayPal. You may put the deposit down on a hedgehog online, upon a visit, or you may pay everything up front. The $50 reservation does not count towards the amount that is displayed for the hedgehogs, so each hedgehog in total will cost $150.

If you purchase another hedgehog from me in the future and don't sign up to be a member before picking up your hedgehog then you will have to repeat the application process. On pick up day, I recommend you telling me your account username so that I can record the purchase for future reference and for any events I will be hosting for members who purchased an animal from me. If you sign up for membership after purchasing a hedgehog, shoot me an email of your username. Membership is completely free, it is only a way for me to remember people who purchased a hedgehog from me and are able to participate in events.

You may choose from another AVAILABLE hedgehog if you choose fitting after reservation.

If I do not have any available hoglets but you placed a deposit, I will put you down on a waiting list for the next available litter or an adult if you choose fitting (you will have first pick unless there are multiple people who reserved a hoglet). Reservations will be put in the order of who was first to the $50 reserve purchase.

Handling Policy:
A hoglet will only be handled as long as they are 5 weeks or older and completely weaned from the mother. Everyone's hands must be washed before handling any hedgehogs under my supervision.

Meeting Policy:
You may come out to meet with your hedgehog as many times as you like but it does not mean that I will always be available to schedule these meetings. I do apologize for this but I work full time, I go to school full time, and I have many animals I need to take care of.
​
Every meeting will be between 60 minutes - 90 minutes. If all your questions have not been answered after the 90 minutes then ask me and I will answer them at the meeting unless I do not have time and I will answer your questions through email or we may schedule another meeting.
However, if you place a deposit on a hedgehog and fail to contact me or schedule a session after 4 days, you will forfeit your deposit and the hedgehog will be put up for sale again.
If you cancel a scheduled session without rescheduling and fail to contact me after 2 days, you will forfeit your deposit and the hedgehog will be put up for sale again.

Due to insurance and safety reasons, no customer will come to my home to purchase a hedgehog or product. A meeting location will be given to you once the reservation is made. I will meet you at a location that we both can agree upon until I am able to move to a new location.

What you will receive with your hedgehog:
Upon any meeting you schedule or pick up day (which ever comes first) you will receive an information packet of the basic information you will need, birth certificate, food scoop, and any item you purchase from me. Although I will provide a basic information packet, that does not mean that your research should stop there. I advice you to read through my articles or someone else's articles regarding further details about these animals.

Return Policy:
Research should be made upon any purchase, but if you decide that a hedgehog is not suitable for you, I will gladly accept the animal back. You will receive a percentage of your money back depending how long you had the animal but the $50 is non-refundable. There will be no refunds after 30 days.

Refund within 7 days: 80%
Refund within 14 days: 60%
Refund within 21 days: 40%
Refund within 28 days: 20%
Refund within 30 days: 10%

0% Refund after 30 days.

If anything may happen to the hedgehog before or after receiving the animal you will be given first choice with the next litter, but you will be given a replaced hedgehog if you can provide vet records of the hedgehog possessing WHS

I am not responsible for any medical bills once you take the animal home. I am not reliable for any injuries the animal may inquire once you take the animal home.

Leaving with the Animal Policy:
If you are receiving a hedgehog in the winter, you are required to bring some sort of heating device such as a heating pad or a microwavable heating pad. If you fail to bring this item, you will not be able to take the animal home until you acquire such item. This is for the safety of the animal because hedgehogs require a room temperature between 75-80 degrees Farenheit.

A box will be provided for you if you do not have a carrier of your own. If you do not have a carrier because you never plan to purchase one or any other reasoning, please let me know ahead of time so I am able to get a box for your hedgehog. If you fail to let me know that you do not have a carrier and I do not have a box available, you will not be able to take the animal home.
